A secret third thing

Opinions expressed are yours, I'm you from the future

republicans: we're gonna eradicate trans people. we're gonna take away their rights and healthcare, and make it a crime to go in public. liberal 'allies': oh yeah? Why is that? because you're having GAY thoughts about them! gotcha!

The thing thats amazing is, grammar is quite like a programming language for humans You can tell a lot about how someone views trans people by the type of variable [noun, adjective, etc] they think the word is Like, sorry but its not hard to see that you think a trans woman is a man (but womanly)

i feel stupid when i clock it as though it can't possibly be meaningful but cis people capitalising Trans is also just another one of those shibboleth moments. where do they get this idea from?

I genuinely want liberal, self proclaimed allies, to truly examine why people who make trans women always the butt of the joke are able to have such large platforms & followings. Why is this acceptable to you & what might that say about your own views?

like, genuinely just call me a fag at that point like... I don't understand what compels cis liberals to do/say stuff like this, as if trans people exist solely for the purpose of one-liner cornball politics. The lack of self awareness or seriousness is astounding

i don't know if this knowledge is region-locked to the UK or something but i've been feeling completely insane about this i would like the idea that charitable work meaningfully indicates growth or good-will to encounter the existence, crimes, and institutional defences of Jimmy fucking Savile.

donating to trans charities is no longer a good deed if you're doing it to make yourself Seem like a good person

What a victim says or doesn't say they want is meaningless when the perpetrator remains in a position of power over them, as they cannot, by definition, be truly free to express their wants or needs without fear of retribution. I suggest reading a bit more on this, from books specifically.

Lastly, the idea that having sex with one man implies that a woman is "sexually available" to men broadly is also very overtly rape culture. Much more so if you imply that it carries over to *all* women of the same identity/orientation This is not difficult, or complicated, or even all that nuanced

The impulse to 'protect' the label of lesbianism, is not about 'decentering men' It is about the pervasive cultural notion that womens' sexuality must be policed, scrutinized, and controlled Outrage at a lesbian sleeping with a man, has nothing to do with men. it's about the woman's sexual agency.

Aknowledging that one person does one thing, does not imply that all people must do that thing. Also, having sex with one man in no way makes a woman 'sexually available' to all men in general. This is just, on its face, slut shaming & homophobia.

The social belief that straight men should be *disgusted* by the idea of having sex with another man, is literally the origin point for a great deal of violence against queer people. Policing lesbianism along those same lines is actively propagating that same core belief

Str8 men can sleep with men and still be str8 Str8 women can sleep with women and still be str8 Gay men can sleep with women and still be gay Lesbian women can sleep with men and still be lesbian Sexual activity does not define sexual orientation ppl can sleep with people they aren't attracted to
