Can confirm, per sources, that Knicks star Jalen Brunson will undergo surgery to repair an injured left wrist that caused discomfort during playoffs, where he averaged 28.4 points and scored 45 to win the title. He’ll be able to resume basketball activities later this summer.

Can confirm that Andre Drummond is coming to the Knicks, per league sources. The Big Penguin provides the size, veteran experience and rebounding (statistically one of the best ever) that the Knicks need and were looking for with Robinson gone. Also, good locker room guy.

Knicks have a little more competition in the backup center market with the Lakers dealing Ayton. One name I’m hearing to watch for with New York if he gets waived by Denver: Jonas Valanciunas. Nuggets just added Marvin Bagley.

Landry Shamet intends to return to the Knicks on a four-year, $24 million deal, league sources confirm to The Athletic. Shamet gets some security and rewarded for being a key part in the Knicks’ title run. I estimated Shamet would come back at 3 years, $18 million. This is the same aav.

Knicks take Ugonna Onyenso, a center, at No. 53. Played for three colleges and averaged, at least, 2.8 blocks per game in two of his college seasons. Maybe best shot blocker in draft. Assuming NY is done, I'll have a story tomorrow AM on what the draft means for the Knicks' big picture.

Can confirm that the Knicks are moving pick No. 31 and 55 to Houston for 39, 53 and a 2029 second-round pick. @ShamsCharania first. The Knicks, with a mandate as of now to stay out of second apron, have yet to make a pick in the draft.

Scratch all of that — and now the Knicks move De Larrea and then Peat to pick up five second-rounders and select no player in first round, multiple sources confirm. Still have the No. 31 pick tomorrow, which I wouldn’t be surprised if they move

With the 25th pick (New York moved back one spot, save a few dollars against payroll and got cash considerations), the Knicks select Sergio De Larrea. Likely draft-and-stash guy for a team worried about going into the second apron.
