It's the brand-new electronic Wobblefowl: the interactive duck that streams all your favorite games! (any pronouns / late-20s) TRY ME: twitch.tv/wobblefowl

yeah, Furbies should have rights. The number of rights should also increase based on the length of the furby.

Yeah, I like the look of this so far. It doesn't have an API for channel point redeems yet, but other than that it has basically every major thing I want. The staff are anti-AI and pro-FOSS, which is very refreshing! I'll be doing a test stream at some point at altstream.online/wobblefowl

Waiting for @altstream.online to come back online so I can investigate it 👀 It looks like it has everything I want, just have to make sure it's not too good to be true... if not, I go back to the self-hosting plan

Trying to workshop the idea of a Stream Creator Platform Cooperative. The goal would not be a "competitor" per se for major platforms, but rather a creator-owned and democratically-operated alternative, with core ethical guidelines.

I think, whenever possible, games should have a demo available. More often than not, when I'm unsure of whether I'll like something and I try the demo first, I leave wanting the game more than I did before. And make the demo long. Long enough for me to get really invested, like an hour or two.

Realized today that I could theoretically just self-host streams on a dedicated website instead of dealing with Twitch... I think the only downside for me would be less discoverability, but it's not like I had much of that to begin with

Every time I think "it's been so long, I should stream again :)" I see some new stupid news about Twitch or Amazon and I'm reminded that I'm basically just working for them whenever I go live 😐 I've always felt some cognitive dissonance there but it just keeps getting harder to ignore...

Twitch is requiring new Affiliates, before their first payment, to give government photo ID and a separate photo to Persona, the same Persona that has connections to government mass surveillance programs. When I asked Twitch support for another option, they said there isn't one. #twitch #persona 1/4

Text on Twitch's website saying "Verify Your Identity" "Submit proof of identity and location to receive your payout" "In order to receive your payout, you need to verify your identity through Persona, Twitch's identity verification service. You will have 3 tries. Please be ready to provide both of the following: 1. A picture of your government-issued identification card, such as an identity card, passport or driver's license. 2. A "selfie" (i.e., a picture of your face), taken using a webcam or phone camera. By clicking "Start Verification" below, you understand that you will be leaving Twitch and will be redirected to Persona's service, and further understand and acknowledge that Twitch may send Persona limited personal information about you to facilitate the identity verification process, in accordance with Twitch's Privacy Notice. Information you provide to Persona will not be used for any purposes other than to verify your identity and will not be stored for longer than necessary to fulfill this purpose. Need Help? See our detailed onboarding guide." "Start Verification"

I'm looking for something to replace my "avoid politics and drama" rule. I worry that it's implying 'anyone can stay as long as you don't talk about your beliefs, good or bad' but it's meant to be more like 'let's make this a safe escape where we can briefly distract ourselves from [THE HORRORS].'

I've finally headed back to college to study UI/UX design (yay!), and I was hoping it wouldn't impact streams too much but it has a lot recently! Not going on hiatus, but if I miss stream or stream on a weird day it's probably because of classwork, so don't worry about me, I'm okay, just busy 💛🦆
