No one asked, but I’ve spent most of this year building the fortitude to write my book. I’ve been a journalist and writer of all sorts for years. I was probably publishing stories for about 5 years before I felt comfortable to call myself a writer. That’s just who I am. 1/
World Cup fever has hit my household hard so that's what I've been up to these days.

The world remains on fire so rewatching Heartstopper in preparation for the finale.❤️🏳️🌈
Less blaming people just trying to make ends meet, more blaming the billionaires and CEOs paying us all so little we can barely get by.
Is anyone watching Alice & Steve? It's pure nightmare fuel disguised as a comedy, with a stellar cast and superb-if-not-problematic writing. Ultimately I think that will depend on how it all ends. It feels very original, extremely uncomfortable, but also honest.

Was wondering about this! First time I'd ever heard it. Glad it wasn't a real tornado at least (though I live in a house with a basement for the first time in my life to duck into I guess).
NEW: A member of the Denver Fire Department triggered the errant tornado siren that sounded across the city Monday after he received a false report of a tornado on the ground that he failed to double-check before sounding the alarm

I also hate my smart TVs because they constantly glitch, freeze, etc. Sure, add a device so I can use my streaming services but otherwise just show me the channels and i’ll flip through.
I told someone that I wasn’t looking to buy a smart stove or washer. They replied, “But it’s okay if people need accessibility technology!” I just stopped talking and walked off. I already do the internet online. I cannot also do the internet in person.

“‘When are governments really going to enforce, raise the stakes on fines, ban the companies if necessary for not complying,’ she added.” Honestly why not both? Why not hold the companies to higher standards (and bigger penalties) AND fund creation of more third spaces, including digital ones?
