As someone born and raised in deep east TN, known for some of the most aggressive anti-lgbtq hostility, it deeply saddens me to see someone like Dolly leave us now. She shows that even if you're raised in an environment that preaches hatred you can still show love to all humans. We'll miss you Dolly

Dolly Parton was such a sweetheart and always a warm presence to watch. Either through her music or films, it was always a treat to see her and I'm so sad to hear that she passed at the age of 80 today. I'm really gonna miss her.
Dolly Parton was an outspoken, devout Christian. She also supported, fought for and cherished lgbtq+, equal marriage, vaccines, equal rights, and herself had a marriage often referred to as "unconventional." A truly beautiful human inside n out, intelligent, loving, talented. The loss is great.
