Leaves are coming down off Poplars now -here is the green island mine of Ectoedemia hannoverella with typical double track frass line as the larva feeds from the petiole into the leaf

We have a succulent - Stapelia, which looks quite ordinary until it flowers! The flowers are large but unfortunately have a bad smell like you’ve trodden in dog’s dirt, so it has to go into the greenhouse until it stops flowering!

Ivy is a really good source of diptera, including hoverflies, and bees at this time of year Besides Honey bees today there were lots of Ivy bees along with Calliphora vomitoria, Myathropa flora, Eristalis tenax etc

Always stay alert… Walking past some ivy on a southeast London street. My subconscious discerns a micromoth fizzing. Turns out to be Clepsis dumicolana. Turns out there are a dozen. Relatively recent, ivy-feeding colonist. And new for me.
