You might look at this story & just think 'that's just what happens' but a government run for the benefit of corporations is oligarchy & we need to call it out. Until that changes we will continue to see decisions made for private profit rather than the pubilc good.

Imagine having led your country through more than 4 years of a punishing war, and then listening to Jared Kushner whine about how much “time, energy and jet fuel” he’s spent on his diplomatic mission.

Kushner, who joined the meeting remotely because of an illness, told Zelensky that he should pause the strikes pecause he and U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff were dedicating a lot of time, energy, and jet fuel to mediating with Moscow one of the U.S. oticials said. A 30-day pause on refineries would be a way for Ukraine to show gratitude, that U.S. official said.
