What a lot of people don't realize is that there was a fight going on two fronts here. Iizuka was trying to save the franchise from the inside... ...but there was one other man who was trying to save it from the outside

In 2015, SEGA asked me to return and run PR and Social for a certain blue hedgehog. I was a huge fan of Sonic since a young age, but I had no idea just how interesting things were about to become. Some of you will remember, but back then, Sonic was in a tough spot. His latest game had failed, the entire San Francisco office was being shut down, and SEGA was moving down to LA. If things didn't turn around for Sonic, and soon, I was worried about what the future held. I opened Sonic's Twitter account that first day, and was greeted with comments so negative and personal, I realized instantly that, just for my own sanity, something had to change. So, in a risky career move, I stopped running tweets through approvals in Japan. I started posting whatever I felt would work - fun content, memes, references you wouldn't expect from an official account - the conversation had to change, and I was confident that we could change it. Normally, this is a good way to lose your job. I cannot thank you all enough for what happened next, because you saved my career. Within a day, the account had jumped 30,000 followers, and it just kept growing - 500k followers, a million, two million, three million… The goal was to make you laugh, and to try and embody some of Sonic's old '90s attitude along the way. I hope we've been able to brighten your days and bring a silly grin to your face at least a few times over these past five years. (continued in next image)

Over the weekend, my partner confronted an AI vendor who was intentionally lying about using AI - this ended up with him becoming verbally abusive before coming out of his booth to physically assault my friend who started filming the incident - he BIT HER (yes BIT)

Es geht also ohne Übertreibung um alles. Es geht darum zu verhindern, dass das Modell R2G und damit die rechnerisch einzige Chance für eine Koalition ohne CDU verbrannt wird. Wenn Grüne und SPD das zulassen, werden sie ohne Ende von rechts erpresst werden. Noch mehr als jetzt.

2) Die Phase der Regierungsbildung wird genutzt, um die Linke generell so massiv zu beschädigen, wie es mit den Grünen beim "Heizhammer" geschah. Sich zu berappeln, dauert. Und die Zeit, so vermutlich die Kalkulation, reicht, um die trumpeske Agenda so durchzusetzen, dass die Demokratie tot ist.

Um es nochmal klar zu sagen, worum es bei der Regierungsbildung in #Berlin geht. Um viel mehr als Berlin. Um alles. 1) Die CDU will SPD und Grüne ganz grundsätzlich von den Linken fernhalten, weil diese Dreierkoalition die einzige ist, die ihre rechtsnationale Agenda (mit der AfD) ausbremsen kann.

The Oxenham Arms pub in South Zeal, Devon, boasts the unusual distinction of having been constructed around two prehistoric standing stones. If you’re lucky and visit at the right time of day, as I did, you might also see the smaller of the two being recharged with sacred energy by the sun.

An ancient standing stone replenishes itself with the moorland winter sun, in a the dining room of a pub where I found out, to my disappointment, non-cash payments of under £10 are not permitted.
