I had to give up on this puzzle. Not enough variety in color. 😕 It bored me. Readers also get bored without variety. Make sure your characters don't all speak the same way. Make sure your sentences vary in length. 📝 Then hire a copyeditor to catch anything else that could bore your readers.

I loved this book and will refer to it when I get around to writing my own novel. I highly recommend it to any author who wants to get their manuscript in the best shape possible before hiring a professional editor. She also has a nonfiction version.

I'll be the first to admit that editing is expensive. But you are paying for an editor's time, and their time has value. They aren't reading your writing for the pure joy of it (though it is a bonus if we are enjoying what we're reading). #AmEditing #WritingCommunity
