I'm happy to be in Belfast for the EPSS Annual Conference. I'm chairing two great panels. The first, "PP02: Contemporary Perspectives on Intraparty Politics", is on Friday at 17:10 in Broadway (Hilton) and brings together papers on the measurement, content, and effects of intraparty politics.
I am really happy to share that on 12 June, I successfully defended my PhD dissertation in political science. The defence was a lot of fun. This was in large part because of my great opponent, @henrikseeberg.bsky.social , who initiated a challenging and intellectually engaging discussion.
Juicy scandals can break a coalition. “Who cares?” You may ask. Well, the brilliant Ida Hjermitslev and I showed that the ensuing sh*tstorm - the termination - reduce citizens’ satisfaction with democracy. See 👇🏼
