“Deporting” someone is sending them back to their country where they are free to live as citizens. What that asshole is doing is NOT deportation. It’s kidnapping and human trafficking. It’s illegally sending people to USA-funded off shore concentration camps.

Be stolen during an international trip brings the ambiguous feeling of frustration for my lost items and bureaucracy for the consequences of those, but relief that at least phone, id documents, and laptop (and myself, of course!) are safe 😅

We keep saying that political polarisation is not always bad... But when it becomes a problem? A few weeks ago, we published this at Information, Communication and Society, where we define destructive polarisation and identify its symptoms in online communication:

Reasons to be angry about the Social Media Ban for Children bill in Australia include all the arguments scholars have pointed out, PLUS the added heartbreak of finding yourself in agreement with Elon Musk... sadness

Only by being in a different place do we start to think so differently about our objects of analysis... Berlin has given me many new ways of looking at political polarisation and deep disagreements 👀
