Key facts: Epilepsy is a chronic noncommunicable disease of the brain that affects people of all ages. Around 50 million people worldwide have epilepsy, making it one of the most common neurological diseases globally. Nearly 80% of people with epilepsy live in low- and middle-income countries. It is estimated that up to 70% of people living with epilepsy could live seizure-free if properly diagnosed and treated. The risk of premature death in people with epilepsy is up to three times higher than for the general population. Three quarters of people with epilepsy living in low-income countries do not get the treatment they need. In many parts of the world, people with epilepsy and their families suffer from stigma and discrimination.

If you're a content creator or influencer who claims to be a trans ally, RIGHT NOW more than ever you have a responsibility to make sure your community knows it. You must use your influence, and loudly. Posting "trans rights are human rights" one time is not enough. Share info, raise funds, be mad.

You do not have to consume every single tiny piece of bad news in order to be a good person. It’s ok to miss things. Traumatizing yourself isn’t the same as activism. Bearing witness to the point that you’re paralyzed with fear and horror and fury isn’t going to help us get through this.

its going to be more important than ever to orient yourselves towards positive things, bad things exist and they're out there--- BUT if you have your focus on just countering the bad stuff you're going to still be orbiting the horrid & horrible focus instead on whats positive & sustainable 🌱
