It's so bad. Even jobs at places that once seemed "stable" aren't. And with editors being laid off and budgets being cut, there are less opportunities for freelancers to pitch, while it feels like even more people are trying to freelance because of lack of full-time jobs.

I love a good award show, I value awards for what they tell us about art. But the backlash to the new Asian Pop category at the Grammy’s shows yet again how the American music and media establishment engages with art and audiences that increasingly don’t necessarily want or need it
