McVay wasn’t supposed to share that the NFL agreed it wasn’t a DPI. What, do they just agree with coaches to placate them??
NFL Tells Sean McVay it Wasn't DPI, but it Was Still a Penalty
The Broncos - Rams game was a classic and shouldn't be defined by a single penalty. Now Sean McVay says the NFL told him it wasn't called correctly, but they didn't mention it should have been illegal...

Rap: NFL sent memo to remind coaches all conversations are "confidential" and not to be discussed publicly about referees. This is in relation to Sean McVay's PI statement this week.

And also added that just because something isn’t PI, that doesn’t mean it wasn’t a different penalty
The Denver Broncos are playing the 3-0 San Francisco 49ers on the road this week. But they are at least getting the Niners at the best time with all their injuries. It'll still be a tough test with Brock Purdy playing the best football of any QB right now, and Christian McCaffrey on fire too.

From @brykno.bsky.social: Bo Nix's Interception-Worthy Throw Rate is 3rd worst in the NFL at 7.4%. Nix is putting the ball in harms way too often. Many other metrics point to him being a bottom-third QB currently.
“You can’t say enough about Deshaun Watson…” Well, you’re literally saying nothing about the “adversity he went through off the field” He allegedly sexually assaulted 30 women. And settled with them.

It sure is interesting what things the NFL will not tolerate and which ones it will
NEWS: Tony Romo and CBS Sports have parted ways:
Romo and CBS “mutually split ways” aka he got fired. Sweet no more weird sounds from Romo during big games.
The problem isn’t that they’re moving past it—it’s that they’re trying to rehabilitate it. Would be better for everyone if people who don’t want to engage with the facts just talked about the play on the field and left it at that.
Looks like the NFL is moving past talking about Deshaun Watson's past. awfulannouncing.com/nfl/al-micha...

Look, we are all trying to build an audience. But I find it weird that the New York Times writer covering the Broncos is posting all his pieces in the Denver Broncos subreddit like I am, a one-man show with a newsletter/website/blog.
From yesterday. If it wasn’t DPI, it was at least illegal contact.

The NFL told Sean McVay the DPI wasn't actuall called correctly. But, if that wasn't DPI, it was clearly illegal contact at a minimum. We're not going to let a call ruin what was a fantastic football game.

Everyone's reacting to the replay as if this was upheld or changes after a review. A flag was thrown when there was visible contact (from the ref behind the players). Bryant sold the contact and got the flag. Once that happened it was done. It's not "rigged" or a conspiracy, it's a flag. 🤷♂️
That play deserved to be called Offsetting penalties at absolute worst, it was clearly illegal contact
Some of the production numbers jump closer to average if you remove Week 1, but the inputs don't. Still dead last in % of throws to the sticks (36.8%) on those plays if you just track W2/W3. Not going to cut it.
Dropbacks in the pocket with a time-to-throw of 2+ seconds, the Broncos rank: * 31st in air yards per attempt * 32nd in throws to the sticks * 27th in epa per dropback * 17th in success rate * 5th-highest turnovers per dropback
Certified ball-knower. Wasn’t the first, won’t be the last time I say he sucks during a game.
