We made it up the M5 as far as Sedgemoor services before we needed a "comfort break". Rare occurrence these days.
I am watching a performance of Vivaldi's Four Seasons by The Academy of Ancient Music I recorded off Sky Arts a while back. They have a Therabo, the 17 century double necked lute. Very prog. 😄
The postman has been with my "directors cut" copy of Robert Reed's Compendium. Features many "names" including Steve Hackett, Gavin Harrison, Mel Collins, Nick Beggs, Jakko Jakszky, John Mitchell and Dave Stewart (the one from Egg and NHS) among others.
Bright and sunny here today. Nice but I am off to a retina screening appointment so I would have preference yesterday's fog for when I come out with pupils on maximum dilation!
I love this video of Bellever in November 2024 I found. It was very cold with a light dusting of frost, there was a beautiful mist over the river and that night snow fell. #Dartmoor, #Devon #photography
A few snaps from last night's John Hackett Band gig at Ashburton Arts. Great performance throughout by the band and support Heather Findlay. I was there with @singingconductor.bsky.social

The story of Ernest #Shackleton 's #Antartic expedition in 1916 is an incredible tale of survival in the most extreme circumstances. One of the survivors, Lionel Greenstreet lived very close to me. There is a good chance I would have passed him in the street when I was a child.
Looks like Torbay council is doing something about the intorable delays caused by roadworks on the A385 at #Churston. Work will stop until October and restart with a new traffic management plan. Fingers crossed.

Brunel and Turner, two greats of the 19th Century. I love this painting.
Rain, Steam and Speed, The Great Western Railway, 1844, by JMW Turner, sublime English Romantic artist, inspired French Impressionists. An early GWR broad gauge locomotive crosses Maidenhead Bridge, built in 1838 by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, visionary engineer; died #OTD 1859. National Gallery London
The story of Keith Emerson's GX1 youtu.be/bmQZSYhbr9w?... Needless to say I have an emulation of the later GX-80, but not the chops.

Holloway path or ancient trackway, that leads to Walkhampton church yesterday, #Dartmoor #Devon #photography Holloway paths derived from the Old English hola weg, “sunken road” are formed over centuries by a combination of heavy human traffic and natural water erosion wearing away at soft bedrock.

Shadow, our adolescent #cat climbed up the palm tree in our garden today. It took a while but she worked out how to get herself down.
