Drawer of birds, designer of fabric, sewer of gorgeous things you might want to buy from me. I also really like food, walking and cycling. www.thesewphist.com

As I was on the way out of the sanctuary today, the people ahead of me spotted a pair of the roundest kererū you've ever seen. Simply magnificent! Photos were taken (just not by me). Another couple of people were passing by on their way in, so we pointed them out to them. They got very excited...

It's really kind of my brain to let me be so focused on work at... 2 am. I guess it's time to down tools for the night. Have to get up and go say hello to some birds and plants and tuatara and maybe even some insects tomorrow.

Hey, question for Welly folk who are into comic/pop culture type stuff (yes, I am old)... Have any of you been to any of the Welly-X Comic & Pop-culture expos that happen a few times a year around the city? If so, what's the vibe... do you think my Absurbirdies would fit in?

That moment when you have an idea that you're not sure if it is pure genius or just really silly. I've had lots of X-rays and scans. I have access to the images. I've been talking about hoodie zippers when teaching Pilates, to get people to think about their spine. I could print my 🩻on a 👕.

Actually, on reflection, it makes perfect sense; if an Australian spots a creature they've never seen before, their first reaction *should* be alarm. How deadly is this thing? Should I run? Or shout? How long do I have to live?

If you thought those FB stats were impressive, check out the ones from Instagram… (This is what happens when you only had 12 followers and one “coming soon” post a week or so ago; we’re up to 92 on the @birdandbeach.bsky.social account now) 😂

Instagram professional stays page, 2000 views, up 203100% from July, and 73% from non-followers, up 148400%.

You are all awesome. Every single one of you. (And I guess I should have invited you to like the new stuff sooner, but I was on a meta for business break.)

Ok, I'm at the point of tiredness that I'm hallucinating earthquakes in Auckland. (I'm sure it's probably just someone in one of the other hotel rooms opening and closing a door a little to vigorously, but my Wellington spidey senses are jumping at it.)

8 days later I finally have access to my MS account again! It took me several days to log a ticket because I was following the online instructions for what was happening, until I couldn't wait any longer. And then it took another 4 days for troubleshooting, but they just called back and it's fixed!

This is really not a good time for my laptop to decide to play up. First it was the Bluetooth. Fixing that put me into a Bitlocker recovery that has screwed my OneDrive. And now Photoshop keeps crashing on me. All this week.

Three years ago today, my food aversion cookbook and guide COLOR TASTE TEXTURE was released! I couldn’t be more proud of my book. The people who have reached out to me to share how it’s improved their lives have left me humbled and I only wish more of the folks who need it find it. Thanks everyone!

Does anyone I know happen to be somewhere near Auckland Showgrounds and have access to a printer? All my IT issues last week had some consequences… and I need a few docs printed, but I’m here alone. Am happy to pay if someone can pick up a USB, print them for me, and deliver back. 🙏

I'm one of the lucky ones who almost never has issues with their IT, but this week has sorely tested my patience. Still no OneDrive, but at least I've managed to grab most of what I needed from R's access to the folders. Now Adobe is being a sulky brat, so currently uninstalling/reinstalling ID.
