I have started putting together my upcoming article on an outing of the young Charles V and his household when he was under the care of his Aunt, Margaret of Austria. It is absolutely incredible to look at the sheer number of staff who accompanied him, with some prominent names on there as well.

My latest article is now live over on my SubStack. In my latest investigation into records pertaining to Claude Bouton I have been looking at the document listed in the archival inventories as a receipt of payment made to Claude Bouton. The document dates to the 1st of May 1513.

Part 2 of my research into documents from 1512-1513 is almost complete. This letter appears to be from Claude & dates to mid 1513. It starts "Je Claude Bouton, escuier seigneur de Corberon, conseillier et Chamberlain de monsieur l'archduc d'austrice, prince despaigne, duc de Bourgoingne &C." 😍
