NATO’s foundation is no longer the Washington Treaty. Now members need to comply with a policies that violate the Treaty itself! A US-led NATO is no longer an alliance for the defence of liberal democracy. Under Trump the “alliance” will have more and more in common with the Warsaw Pact!
