Ran a marathon, like a real road marathon. Went out fast, wheels came off at mile 18, kept grinding to the finish line. I’d do it again too. Probably set personal bests in 5 and 10k times in a decade, and pretty quick half marathon distance too. Am I done running trail ultras? Nah.

I’m just gonna keep doing my thing. Find something that motivates you and don’t worry about what other people think or say.
Navigating the Medicaid system with a parent who is practically broke is not for the faint of heart. People ask if I can foot a 12k a month bill for her needs. Insanity. Being in the sandwich generation sucks.
You have been accepted to the 2027 Arrowhead Ultra 135. See you at gear check. Well, ain’t that some shit.
Applied for one of the top 50 toughest races on Earth.
If I could get AI in my shoes to stop tripping, that would be ideal.
I’ve seen more concerts in the last 10 years than the first 30+. This will continue, if possible.
Solar charging and supplying power to charge my lawn mower batteries. Devices weren’t free but the energy is now being harvested from the sun. Praise Ra.
A large human workforce of former CEOs who we replaced with AI.
Actual CEO of a space company people actually invest in says "by the early 2030s" -- just 5 to 7 years from now -- there will be mines and factories and large human workforce on the Moon, such that we'll be able to see lights of the lunar city from our front porches fortune.com/2026/08/17/b...
Felt that. Few more weeks like that and I’ll either be good to go or FUBAR. It be like that sometimes.
There are a bunch of people going to Las Vegas for BlackHat and Defcon, plus a slice of BSides. Not everyone is going. So if you can’t, whatever your reason, it’s okay to feel like you are missing out. My suggestion: take a hacker project you’ve been wanting to do, and do that if you can.
Only the beginning of prep for the next few races. It’s also Oktoberfest season, so those extra carbs have to go somewhere.
Filled out my first draft of a job description that will report to me. No idea on timeline right now. I feel like I’m burning the bridge I’m standing on right now. Half in the operator role, half in the new role for a team that has not existed before. Then throw on 100 mile and marathon prep.
That went incredibly well. Overall, an odd experience with one pedal driving but the vehicle was nicer than my current truck. There will always be trade offs but such is life.
Gonna test drive an EV. There is a part of me that might miss the petrol engine, exhaust notes, and the idea of a large truck to pull an RV I’ll probably never buy. At the same time, petrol is a single use item. I already have a reservation for an EV, I should really drive one. Soon.

Just think of it like how we need to go back to coal. Beautiful coal. Don’t worry about the environment nor your health.

Splitting time between roles. Basically being decommissioned as a red team operator. Sucks but I need to grow outside of the pure offensive realm.
