One of the paintings that was stolen was this one, framed. It’s big - like 15x20”. I’ve been tasked with putting together an inventory, which is an awful thing to do. I’m grateful that I have five paintings in my apartment on my walls, but for some reason I stored this one.

Traditional watercolor illustrators who struggle with clients wanting transparent background files for spot illustrations: Affinity Photo has an "erase white paper" filter. I just started playing with it, but it's kind of magical. Total game changer. I had no idea it existed. Mind blown.

I have several pieces in this group exhibit featuring work from dark artists throughout our region- opening tomorrow, join us! Phantom Narrative V Opening Reception: Thursday, October 1, 4 - 7 pm Carroll Community College, Gallery in the Scott Center, Westminster, MD Exhibit Oct 1 - Dec 5, 2026

It can be hard for normal people to imagine a situation where you'd invest billions, then just throw away most of what you bought. But above a certain scale, companies aren't in the "build things to last" business. They are - as we have all heard many times - in the "shareholder value" business.

Made another batch of these little experimental mixed media pieces before DragonCon. This group inspired by species from Cornwall with collage bits from old books I got in a local shop while there. I love making these as a palette cleanser between bigger projects.

“Magpie Study (Two for Joy)” finished just in time to bring to Dragon Con! Saw so many of these guys in Cornwall, where we learned to “salute the magpie” to counteract any bad luck from seeing a single magpie. At first we took it quite literally, we started giving them a military salute.

“The Lovers,” watercolor. I painted this piece in the flat in Cornwall earlier this year, based on my photos of the Glastonbury Abbey ruins, a possible legendary burial place of Arthur and Guinevere. Some legends say that upon his death, Arthur transformed into either a raven or a Cornish chough.

It’s my birthday! I’m 42! That means you have to share my art- that’s the law, right? Incidentally, I’m currently looking for interesting publishing projects for the first part of 2027.

You ever decide on some unifying “rules” for a self-generated collection of art and then partway through the process get progressively more frustrated with the rules, as if there is ANYONE to blame but you yourself?
