Here is the shop looking all blue as it tends to. You’ll notice in addition to the jasminoids we’ve got a little patch of green on the right hand side, next to the cone. What will it become? In other news we have lots of books and magazines which we think are the best there are.

A photograph of the front of the shop Rare Mags, which is blue and has two jasmines growing in pots either side, a small orchid of green growing out of the pavement and a orange traffic cone just hanging out to the side too.

We’re having a little break from the 9th of August, back on the 18th. Get your summer reading sorted beforehand. Website will remain open but dispatch will recommence once we return.

When loads of magazines turn up from Japan and we immediately cook them on the cobbles. This is a great batch, open neck shirts, eyewear & watch, vintage military, work coats (lots of work coats), baseball and t-shirts Search “Japan” on our site for the latest + archive, all available right now.

Various copies of Lightning, Clutch and 2nd magazines photographed on some cobbles

We really like 2nd magazine, we import it from Japan. It’s for clothes enthusiasts. Not quite street wear, not heritage, not preppy, not Ivy, not tech, not outdoors, but all of that somehow. The yellow one is the latest and we have a little collection of back issues available too.

We’ve been a bit quite on here recently, but we’re still doing the “find all the best print from all over the place and bring it to the shop and sell it to you” thing we’ve been pioneering since 2018.

A photo of a blue shop front which house the shop Rare Mags, there is a sign above the door which says “Rare Mags”, a pavement sign (very grubby) which also says “Rare Mags” and there’s a traffic cone up the side of the shop too

Big news, this new one is popping out next week. We will be closing for two weeks to celebrate/recover/concentrate on it. Some things are more important than selling stuff. We will be running a 10% off code online. We would love it if you supported us.

A fuzzy photograph of an ultrasound of a baby, it’s obviously really cute.

Imagine buying a magazine today? Honestly you’d feel like A BOSS So, with that in mind i want to give a Saturday shout out to @raremags.bsky.social who not only have our latest issue but also a bewilderingly good selection of other stuff, so let’s have a look & see what I want to read… 1/15

Wyrd Science – Rare Mags

One of those magazines that does exactly what it sets out to do, no messing around, cramming every page full of what they want in the magazine and nothing else. Tabletop gaming, but now with added fil...

Another section of our multi-part pre order saga is the new Tools magazine, this time taking in the act of spinning. We know a lot of you like to do that stuff. So get in on the action, copies hitting the shop early next week directly from France.

The Tower is out today, and we have Thea in the shop tomorrow evening talking with Jodie Matthews about fairytales and folk and stories. You can come - tickets from the site or the counter now

We’re here selling books and magazines (print is dead), in a physical shop (the high street is dead), writing these words using a human brain (we don’t even need to think any more though right?)
