I am very sad to learn of Sir Ian Wood’s passing. I got to work with him a little bit in my time as Energy Cab Sec. He was a passionate advocate for the NE and we got on well, not least because we had that in common. My best wishes to his family and to the many people who will miss him in the NE.
I would very much like to thank RSPB, Cairngorms National Park, local estates and farmers for providing assistance and machinery to support the creation of fire breaks whilst the SFRS tackle the fires at Cairngorms. We are seeing an improving picture as reported at SGORR this afternoon.

Two weeks ago, Reform took the huff with @gillianmartin.bsky.social for accusing the party of being climate deniers - complaining the SNP were being mean to them. Today, Reform has tabled a Holyrood amendment denying the existence of the climate crisis and made inaccurate claims about renewables.

We were delighted to host @gillianamartin.bsky.social Cabinet Secretary for Climate Action and Rural Affairs at RSPB Scotland's Lochwinnoch nature reserve this morning to showcase just one example of how the Nature Restoration Fund is transforming places for nature and for people across Scotland.
Enough is enough. When politicians use hateful language, they create conditions for hatred to grow. This is the Reform party I warned about, and they should be ashamed for inciting racial division in Scotland. I will always stand up for the inclusive country we are. 🏴
