www.abc.net.au/news/2026-08.... < If you follow the Australian Beer industry you’ll have seen a number of breweries wrapping up this year, which is pretty rubbish, maybe it’s time for a change (at least for a bit)
The problem of Australia's 'beer tax' is well known. Is it time to end it?
The cost of alcohol is grinding Australia's old pub culture and live music venues into dust. Should we keep forging ahead with six-monthly increases in the beer excise?

Shorter distance but quicker pace to keep up with @jorgt.bsky.social . And he eased off the pace for me 😂
Day 2 done. Faster pace all up. Still feel I’ve got a bit more to give. Found my stride in the last km.
Getting run ready for #CodeConnect . Not ran in ages, so nice to smash out a 5km comfortably. The weather at 6am in the UK is perfect

Bought the Netgear ORBI Mesh Wireless Router after an electrical storm fried my last router. Was easy to setup, but had a heap of issues with my printer when wirelessly connected to the satelite. Just connected it via CAT6 & we're back. The speed of the network across the house is insane now
Getting closer to the day I can run docker on my ARM based laptop using WSL2
I love this term and it’s exactly how I’m feeling for next week. I was trying to explain this feeling to someone and now I know what to call it. Cheers @jasper07.secondphase.com.au
John Patterson@jasper07.secondphase.com.au · 10mo agoTIL “funemployment” in tech is that gap between gigs where you intentionally do fun stuff. Partly to recover from burnout, partly to avoid spiraling about what comes next, mostly to reconnect with why the work was enjoyable before it became a grind
Checked in my beer on Untappd at saccharomyces and just spotted I’m now on the tv 😉
Another Windows Update and still no sign of Windows version 27653. After moving to a Windows Laptop that is ARM based earlier this year the only thing I've been missing is Docker support via WSL2, which is dependent on features in this release.

Also trying CAP Console. But does not want to play ball on Windows using WSL2 and running cap on Ubuntu. Also no option to access files mounted on linux 🙃
Decided to play with new AMS concept for Authorisation in CAP today. The doco needs work for sure. Also the discovery that it needs java to run locally was interesting. More specifically needs a java version higher than 8 (which I had setup to run groovy scripts). Next up I need to get it deployed
With halloween approaching. I'd like to see #Joule rebranded as Ghoul for a few days as a nice little easter egg 👻
