Hi! I'm Silver Eagle. He/They, 30s, Furry, LGBTQ+, Pan/Aegosexual, Leftist, Neurodivergent, VR Club Critter, Open-source Web Dev and Disability/Accessibility Advocate. https://silvereagle.dev/ 🔞 Minors DNI (some NSFW content and topics discussed) #NoAI

Wondering if it would be useful to compile the stances of various VR performance/DJ venues on generative AI in one place for easy reference for performers, because a lot of it is word-of-mouth right now and folks end up accidentally falling into places that don't match their principles at all

I should not have tried a brand new black bean burger the same day I bumped my dose of GLP-1s up, because now I can't tell whether the violent food-poisoning-like symptoms that woke me up this morning were from one or the other. All I know is...blegh. That was miserable.

It remains to be seen whether Cloudflare buying up Deno, merging its open-source implementation of a lot of their Workers APIs with their own software and retiring the Deno runtime itself, will be a good thing, but I feel like I've seen this movie before and I definitely understand the skepticism

Honestly, introducing new per-feature restrictions (i.e. if you violate an avatar rule, you can't upload avatars for a few days) is a VAST improvement over the current "make one honest mistake and don't see your friends for over a week" status quo. Hopefully those days are past us.

Hello? Is anyone there? Oh. it's just the voices. It's time for the Oct 8 2026 Dev Update! Read about our Voice Audio Rework, an update for the Steam Frame for standalone VRChat use, upcoming Creators-focused changes, & more! ask.vrchat.com/t/developer-...

Left: The disability pride flag Right: The Arc Raiders game logo I'm sure Arc Raiders is a fun game, but no, I'm not repping the "Arc Raiders Pride Flag" on my VRChat banner XD

A picture of the disability pride month flag, with a dark gray background (representing anger, mourning and rebellion) and five diagonal stripes of muted color, from left to right: red (physical disabilities), yellow (neurodiversity), white (invisible and undiagnosed disabilities), blue (emotional and psychiatric disabilities) and green (for sensory disabilities).A picture of the ARC Raiders game logo, showing four diagonal solid color stripes in light blue, green, yellow and red.

This. If you block out all the folks who cause any tension by posting "drama" or "politics" in the fandom, you may find down the road that you are surrounded by people who truly don't have your best interests at heart, only to wonder why nobody warned you sooner. We certainly tried to!

"UwU no pawatics" is how actual Nazis and the alt-right stay embedded in furry spaces, though. It's why you didn't know PeaceWolf's actual acts. It's why people are still giving money to Vivid Publishing or buying pooltoys from Horseplay. Intentionally not knowing makes you less safe.

Oh, it's getting talked about, because it's already happening. I've had to restrict pull requests on my FOSS software to approved contributors because of the nonstop "slop grenades" thrown at us. Our "AGENTS.md" file tells coding agents that they are, for the most part, not welcome here.

Here’s a thing about LLM code generation that people haven’t mentioned much, even in theory: The thought that open source projects might either close their source or make the bar for contribution significantly higher due to the onslaught of vibe-coded submissions.

I sincerely do not know how to tell YouTube Shorts to stop giving me "Person reads out a post from Tumblr on top of someone jumping around in Minecraft" videos because it seems to have started doing so and absolutely refuses, no matter how many "don't recommend this channel"s I give it, to quit it

Love to see a community movement like this that just absolutely refuses to go quietly into that good night. By all accounts, it's already being seen by (and pissing off) all the right people, with some GenAI "creators" saying they're "discouraged" and don't want to get on VRC. Keep it up, folks.

It's really been great to see what's starting to happen now that more people are getting together to express their disappointment

I will not be creating for a platform that both uses and promotes AI generated content. #VRChat please join me in placing this poster in your worlds. share it and edit it freely, spread it as far as you can. nothing is going to change if we don't put our foot down now. vrc.group/NOAI.3843

Oh for fuck sake, CVS has an "AI assistant" now for calls, and all the traditional get-me-to-a-fucking-human tricks don't work on this thing. It'll even mislead you, like "Before I transfer you, can you tell me what you're asking about?" and then it'll redirect you back to it again. Miserable.

SPEAKING OF shitty people doing well on Twitch, a lotta folks were apparently upset when I brought up that FA protected and supported a pro-contact zoophile. That story's true! ChaseRedRocket (later Chase, now Xanaecor, a Twitch streamer with 6k followers) was secretly kept as FA staff for years.

PeaceWolf, for the unfamiliar, chaired Free Fur All, the MAGA-esque right-winger furcon in Tulsa, which had 2 Gryphon as a GoH in 2022 and Jasonafex/Kabier in 2023. PeaceWolf famously fell in love with those latter Nazi fucks and left her husband for them, a story she illustrated in 2023.

It bugs me to no end that Peace Wolf (the literal Nazi fur) has found success as a twitch streamer under the name of “Peacedubz”….remember folks if you see her around, she’s an actual fucking nazi.

I'm so tired of seeing the phrase "purity test." Disliking someone because they are fundamentally at odds with a strongly held principle of mine is not a "purity test". It is the basic way by which we as humans discern who we think is decent and who isn't. Literally everyone does it all the time.

The "Second COVID" analogy continues to hold up quite well. If you bring up to people using GenAI that it has huge human costs, including people we know and care about, they'll shrug and say "eh, it's not hurting *me*, so, skill issue" and make it out like you were nuts for bringing it up at all.

open a stream, streamer has an AI cake plastered on their screen, asked sbout it, said it was "pulled off the internet" open another stream that just started, starting soon music had AI artifacts. unfollowed. didn't bother asking about it shit like this makes me want to give everything up, man

I'm doing fine, feeling better after a shower, a sandwich and some quality time with quality critters in VR. I think for my own sake, I should spend a little less time on here for a bit. It hasn't been good for me lately. That constant feeling of "you couldn't change a thing if you tried" is awful.

Well, I guess that explains the silence. They want in on the slopfest themselves, and any tagging mechanism they built would inevitably be used against their own works. Though it was apparently reverted, the sheer audacity to try this right now is kind of astonishing.

The login page for @vrchat.com has an AI modified background for until it loads a video background, instead of featuring creator's worlds like it used to. This platform is falling apart.

I'm done with this FurAffinity shit. I've had people downplay a hugely traumatic part of my life, try to argue every point with me as if I'm supposed to have all the answers, and so many people starting sentences like "Aw that sucks, BUT..." like they can talk me out of my own hurt.

As a developer who takes pride in my work as a human endeavor, I'm *exhausted*. I see my profession being eroded on all sides by this. It has sucked much of the joy of coding out of my open-source work. The worst part, though, are the fascists who giggle and cheer as it makes life around us worse.

Aura/Moom@moomanibe.bsky.social · last wk.

I frequently see "AI" boosters implying that LLMs are simply an innate and superior part of coding now, inescapable, and that literally all programmers agree with them. And, well. That, too, is a form of propaganda
