My major new legislation, the Affordable Insurance and Climate Recovery Act, authorizes California's attorney general to sue fossil fuel companies and hold them accountable for the increased insurance costs they've caused. Stay tuned.

Big Oil has known since the '60s that their fossil fuel products would dramatically alter Earth’s climate, resulting in "catastrophic" effects. Now that we know how big of a problem we're facing, it's time to make Big Oil pay.
With regard to Big Oil's efforts to downplay the dangers posed by a climate change: “My reaction was shock and disbelief,” she said. “It actually felt more personal. Like a punch to the gut.”

Here it comes. Not so thinly veiled efforts to grant legal protections for oil companies who KNEW (since the 1960s) and LIED (for decades) about their role in perpetuating the climate crisis. All while communities suffer the catastrophic consequences these companies knew would occur. Sickening.
