It doesn’t really matter *why* Trump’s desire to destabilise & divide Europe precisely mirrors Vladimir Putin’s - whether kompromat, self-interest, naked bigotry or something else l. What matters is that Europe treats both regimes like the enemies of progress & democracy they so clearly are.

“The world has changed” is code for “Fascism has arrived in America”. You know it, we know it, stop saying you respect the rapist, stop hurting the poor and lets bin the US (I was a very early adoopter of that) and build a United States of Europe.

JD Vance and his mates clearly aren’t fit to run a group chat, let alone the world’s strongest military force. It has to make our security services nervous about the intelligence we’re sharing with them.

According to Trump Americans should spend less time worrying about Putin. He also worries about ending up like Europe! He’s not our friend - it doesn’t need saying anymore…

This is Winston Churchill visiting the White House during World War II. Funny how he isn’t wearing a suit either. Almost like he was a wartime leader defending his country from being slaughtered and wiped out by an authoritarian aggressor.

It’s been a long day, but in short, bullies ain’t shit! I don’t care what title you hold! This isn’t some long gone reality tv show or failed casino; it is war! How dare a draft dodging dumb dupe humiliate an ally & berate a brave man who has actually been on a battlefield for his people?!

I think this is the closest many of us have ever got to seeing the real Trump. The only consistent thread in his entire unhinged rant was the love & praise for Vladimir Putin. Zelensky has more courage & dignity in his little finger than every member of Trump's regime & fan club combined.

Perhaps we can stop being so parochial about Starmer's trip to Washington now. It was a failure. We are in a battle against fascism. And every decision we make is judged by whether it assisted or opposed it.

I think the best thing the Irish could do is get Zelenskyy to stop in Shannon tomorrow on his way to London, give him a big cheer, a whole hape of stew and a lock of pints. Then take him to Doonbeg where he can take a piss on Trump’s putting green.
