This is unusual for the birdbath, typically the larger birds wait until the birdbath is clear before bathing. The blue jay came back after the female Northern flicker left. #birds

📢 Skunk !!! 📢 It's been ages since we had a skunk in the garden, this one looks small, perhaps a kit from this year. #mammals Two clips, one from each camera. 1st clip consecutive photos made into video.
A friend I know IRL said they've no wildlife near their house as they live in the city, close to major roads. I said put a water bowl out and see what happens. She did, last night, and got a fox on her first night with water bowl! She's amazed, thinking of another camera on bowl. 👍 Water=Life❤️

today, Washington state confirmed that we now have the Emerald Ash Borer in our state. it wipes out at least 90% of all ash trees in a mature forest. It also affects olive trees. when you plant trees, this is why you need to plant a diverse mix of native trees and not one species.

Storm clouds at sunset on the eastern plains of Colorado. These plains make over 40% of the Colorado geography. If you’re traveling from the east on the highway you probably won’t see the mountains to the west until you’re at least halfway through them.
steller’s jay at one of the small hydration stations. Wait she comes back back-and-forth. #Birds i’m probably going move this web tray out of here. I was trying to think of ways that the frogs could hide from the rats, but like I said, I don’t see any frogs.
There’s an explosion of Smol Pickerel Frogs in the yard right now- sometimes one lets me take their picture😄

Black-footed ferrets need healthy grasslands to survive. Weakening oil and gas bonding requirements could leave more orphaned wells polluting habitat while taxpayers foot the bill for cleanup. Tell @Interior to keep current bonding rates in place. app.sosha.ai/s/UmO8FgBX

Eris came outside now. It’s only because her dad went to do an errand so she needs to be with someone. She actually runs outside every time a dog walks past our back alley so she keeps herself busy going in and out. koda chose to go to the damp ground, from the mister which hardly uses any water
this morning, I left the hose in the fountain on low to top it off. This Flicker comes regardless and gets a drink. #Birds
I think I put 12 extra hydration stations out for the frogs. When I researched it, it said their number one risk is drying out and not being able to get water but they prefer not to jump in a pond. They prefer to hide in damp soil so really I should just make all these into bogs as opposed to H2O
OK, this just freaks me out this rat is putting his head in the water and diving for frogs or tadpoles. I don’t know how I can stop this. This is four in the morning. I don’t have a good sight lines nor lights to shoot at the wildlife pond. I would really love a thermoscope. A decent one is $3000.
raccoon came to the sushi bar (wildlife pond) at midnight , 230, and 430. All were solo raccoons. here is one of them eating there’s still tadpoles in the pond- about 10% of pacific chorus frog tadpoles wait until fall to go through metamorphosis. as a way to protect the species.
90% of my videos used to be squirrels, getting on the camera, with six song sparrows in the yard right now 90% of my cameras pick up a song sparrow, 7% squirrels and 3% everyone else. Here is one of the molting Song Sparrow forging for insects on the marginal pond plants. #Birds
two little frogs on a stick one brown one green when they leave this backyard pond -bog I never see them again. I’ve looked, and looked, the rats might kill every one. 😭. #PacificChorusFrogs #Seattle
I did not get to look at bird video today maybe tomorrow…or late tonight -the pups needed attention. Good night
good morning from the pups Koda and Eris guarding the alley fence.
one raccoon every night at least one. this one is at the wildlife pond and move a stick it looks for food in the center and his face is lit up by a camera as he forges
