The follow-up to my SGDQ26 stats post, now with games list data! Looking at the %s for platforms and franchises, it seems like the accepted runs are a good representation vs % of submissions, particularly when looking at the minute count when not including backup runs. Google sheet link in replies

I threw together some tables based on the publicly visible SGDQ submissions list, just because I find this kind of data interesting. Mostly trivial at this point, but there could be more to analyze once the games list is available for comparison on May 1st. In case anyone else finds it interesting:
My submissions for SGDQ. I feel like three of these have a good chance at getting in, and the other two are wildcards that probably won’t make it, but throwing them out there just in case.
Burnout 3 is underrated as one of the very, very best games of all time because you can show Burnout 3 footage to people two decades later and their reaction will still be "hell yeah, this rules. I wanna play this right now."
Jeopardy answers are supposed to be in the form of a question, and people always use “what is” or “who is”, but they don’t say that the questions have to make sense. I need someone to be up there answering with things like “when is teeth?” Or “why is George Washington?”
Hit my goal time for Hell Is Us! This is probably as far as I’ll try to push this run for now, unless new strats are found.
Managed to get a 2:11 after two attempts. It wasn’t a clean run by any definition, but not as long as I thought it might be after my casual play through. Hoping to get something like 2:05 soon.

Starting my 2026 Reading thread by re-reading Neuromancer by William Gibson. The book that kickstarted the cyberpunk genre, and a much better reading experience the second time around because it likes to throw a lot of jargon at you with little to no explanation. I would definitely recommend it.

A friend recently caught me off guard by asking if I would make a box for his dad’s ashes. He gave very little direction other than how big it should be, so I brainstormed for a few days and came up with this. I also found out the hard way why no one makes triangular boxes. He liked it though.

A much better run than last time, sub 6 is definitely possible with really good random encounter rng, but I won’t be the one to grind for it.
The deed is done. Will probably run it back at some point for sub 7 since I improved my notes a lot during this run.
