FFS. Really important infrastructure projects shouldn't be subject to the whims of whoever happens to be in Downing Street. HS2 is a clusterfuck because twats just keep changing their minds. We should commit to big, important projects and see them through, not faff about every time we get a new PM.

Ok, who's read Sebastian Faulks' new book, Farewell to Eden? I finished it last night and I loved it - right up to the point he pulls an incredibly grating sleight of hand at the end of the book, and now I'm just very annoyed at it. Thoughts, anyone else who's read it?

when did people start going completely mad? We have utter batshit nonsense like this from Braverman, we have Trump completely out of control in the US, we have "Danny Tommo" trying to kill RNLI volunteers, we have maniacs flat-out denying vaccines are good. Did the pandemic cook everyone's brains?

There are quite a few things I find annoying about Byline Times, but I think the thing that grates most is the way they use Title Case For All Their Headlines. Lads, you're not American. UK publications generally use sentence case - Title Case Looks Terribly Pompous

Lovely, but those colour e-ink screens are pretty much out of stock everywhere, unless you want the tiny 4" one. I was looking for a 13.3" one for a project and a) unavailable everywhere and b) nearly £300 anyway.
