I'm preaching to the choir here I'm sure, but I need to let this out since I run into it daily at work: IF YOU ARE RETURNING A LAPTOP OR GAME CONSOLE OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT please reset it. log out of your accounts. format it from the options menu. turn off parental controls. it's really not hard.

everything I hear here about post-secondary game design courses makes them sound way worse than the game studies course I took in uni. perhaps the benefit of getting a useless degree is I actually got to be enriched by my education.......

if my next game was just simon says but it had funny visuals and let you choose one of three things after each round it would do numbers?

started typing a mario 64 star name into the youtube search bar to doublecheck if it required anything more than mario's basic jumps and MAN am i glad mario doesnt have to get that other star

once my health is in order and I have more energy I promise I will go back to gamedev and make the worst game ever. pinky swear.

am I wrong, or does it not cost a pretty penny to use claude for coding nowadays? like are all these shitty PC ports and vibecoded emulators costing these people real money?

very close to getting off my high horse and going to next magfest so I can see my cool friends... y'all do have to understand that it is actually kinda scary to travel to a country with leaders that talk about annexing mine though. it's not your fault but it's the world we live in.

starting to think that my dark souls 2 experience would be better if I didn't start by hard leveling faith so I could throw the shitty lightning spears it's still dope but I am getting out-scaled....

I have far too many thoughts on this game, but my bullet point thoughts are: - don't bother without savestates or cheats - it would be slightly better if you could walk one direction and block in another - it would be majorly better if every screen in this game wasn't a bullshit trap to make you mad

beat zelda II I'm kinda over it. I think it has the potential to be the zelda game with the best combat, and it has some great moments that push it towards that (see attached clip - we don't hate these guys as much anymore because we learned how to fight em) but overall it's just not tuned right

We all have 400 errant thoughts a day and have unfortunately been conditioned to post about 10 of them openly, which unfortunately means “getting into greek yogurt” reads as massive news or a hot take to some people who can’t parse that it’s one of those 400 errant thoughts that’s gone tomorrow.

sorry for all the Zelda II posting but just so you know we hate this guy. if you're my friend you fucking HATE this guy.

trying to not put this in a sappy or self deprecating way... but it continues to shock and amaze me that people like me, like what I do, and want to interact with me I have a pretty awful self image which is a me problem to solve. but in striving to be better I really have come to appreciate this.

idk man Zelda II is just so stupidly hard... it's tough to even call the combat better than the first game it's much more of a combat-y game, but what made Zelda 1 combat so nice was the dichotomy of needing to maneuver precisely in what was a very limited grid-based system.

trying out a new thing where instead of replying to dumbass reddit comments I just type out my reply, post a screenshot here where my adoring fans will cheer me on, and then not actually hit send

Reddit comment (cropped, not mine) that reads: "Bitch is a gender neutral insult."Screenshot of an unsent reddit comment (mine, unless you think it's cringe in which case it's someone else's I lied) that reads:

"Of all the names to be called I'd rank 'bitch' as among the most pointedly gendered. When used towards women it often refers to them acting in an aggressive, assertive or neurotic manner - anything that isn't well mannered or submissive. When used towards men it's usually referring to weakness or cowardice - things that are generally seen as emasculating.

None of this is to do with the original discussion, in which I have nothing to add and want no part of and if you reply to me I'll cry and piss myself."

oh are you guys still talking about zelda? that's cute I guess but the rest of us have moved on. we're all talking about other things. you should join us in posting different things to my timeline.
