After years of activists and organisations advocating for a ban for conversion therapy, the UK government has finally published a draft bill. I have learnt that asexual people will be included, which I personally was worried we wouldn't be. However there are big concerns about the bill, see below ⬇️

I get the impression that some people aren't clear what this means. This is the UK state deciding to intervene directly in the healthcare of individual children, depriving them of medicine that their doctors have prescribed for their personal health & wellbeing, in defiance of global best practice.

These letters tell people that endocrine care (blockers / HRT) is being fully withdrawn in 7 weeks time (July 31st). Forced medical detransition. This country is a danger to trans children & young people.

The Palestine Action trial lawyer has won an appeal against a contempt of court charge.
Netpol@netpol.org · 3mo agoFinally some good news: the Court of Appeal has ruled Mr Justice Johnson had no jurisdiction to refer Filton 6 barrister Rajiv Menon KC directly to the High Court for prosecution for contempt of court. This was unlawful.

A poll finds that more British Muslims view Jews favourably than unfavourably and the greatest share see no difference form anyone else. Most are concerned about Islamist extremism too. But what does our media select from it? It’s almost as if they don’t want to ease community tensions.

Multiple UK universities took down their policies relating to trans inclusion after the OfS's unprecedented fine of Sussex over its wholly anodyne approach to discouraging transphobia. Today is a very good day to demand to know when those policies will be going back up.

Last night, I was one of the recipients of a Decadal Award from @prideinstem.bsky.social. I've been spending some time thinking of the last 5 years of my LGBTQ+ and asexual advocacy work. It's something I fell into, and I'm so grateful for the opportunities and support I've received.
The government was forced to admit the EHRC’s transphobic draft guidance got it wrong, and they’ve had to send it back to the drawing board. But the fight is far from over. They plan to bring an updated version back to parliament in May. So we need to act – fast 👇
