I get the impression that some people aren't clear what this means. This is the UK state deciding to intervene directly in the healthcare of individual children, depriving them of medicine that their doctors have prescribed for their personal health & wellbeing, in defiance of global best practice.

Update: Young people & families today received shocking & transphobic letters from NHS. These letters tell people that endocrine care (blockers / HRT) is being fully withdrawn in 7 weeks time (July 31st). Forced medical detransition. This country is a danger to trans children & young people.

It's my birthday πŸ₯³ Just having a nice chill one in the sunshine then off to a gig later. If you'd like to help me celebrate, sharing some of my trans fundraiser stuff would be great but also I'd love for folks to support any other trans people you know. Treat them to some flowers or something πŸ’

A poll finds that more British Muslims view Jews favourably than unfavourably and the greatest share see no difference form anyone else. Most are concerned about Islamist extremism too. But what does our media select from it? It’s almost as if they don’t want to ease community tensions.

Times headline: Muslim voters rank Gaza over the economy in local election poll.

Today is Red Dress day, a time for us to reflect on the fact that: -3 in 4 Indigenous women experience violence in their life, and that although we make up 2% of the population -40% of trafficking victims are Indigenous women. -murder is the 3rd leading cause of death for Native ♀️ #MMIW #MMIWG

A woman wearing a red shirt under a red attiqluq with white flowers holds a hand under earrings that look like red dresses. In some Indigenous tribes, red is a color that our ancestors can see. It's also a nod to the "what was she wearing" questions when a woman is sexually assaulted

This is horrific and disgusting escalation of anti-immigrant rhetoric BUT let’s be real - Labour has been feeding into this with their own horrific and disgusting rhetoric and policies toward immigrants. β€˜We’re an island of strangers’ helps to eventually normalise concentration camps.

I know we've long given up having the rule of law here but this is utterly fucked, I can't believe we're just letting this shit happen during an election campaign

Today we announce a new policy:

In order to deport all illegal migrants in Britain, Reform will need to detain tens of thousands at a time.

Migrants will not be able to leave these detention centres, and each will be held there a couple of weeks before being deported.

So here’s our promise:

A Reform government will not put any migrant detention facilities in any constituency with a Reform MP.

Nor will we put them where Reform controls the council.

And of the remaining areas, we will prioritise Green controlled parliamentary constituencies and Green controlled councils to locate the detention centres.

Put simply, if you vote in a Reform council or Reform MP, we guarantee you won’t have a detention centre near you.

If you vote Green, there’s a good chance you will.

This is an important exercise in democratic consent, not just for our mass deportation policy, but for where the detention centres are placed.

Given @ZackPolanski
openly advocates for open borders, I look forward to their warm embrace of this policy.

Multiple UK universities took down their policies relating to trans inclusion after the OfS's unprecedented fine of Sussex over its wholly anodyne approach to discouraging transphobia. Today is a very good day to demand to know when those policies will be going back up.

The government was forced to admit the EHRC’s transphobic draft guidance got it wrong, and they’ve had to send it back to the drawing board. But the fight is far from over. They plan to bring an updated version back to parliament in May. So we need to act – fast πŸ‘‡

Force the government to rip up the EHRC’s transphobic guidance

It’s been a year since the Supreme Court's decision that accelerated the rollback of trans rights in the UK. It’s been a difficult year, but it’s also been a year of coming together and fighting…

I wrote a little thing about how we orient ourselves toward the moon, thinking with the work of @blmckean.bsky.social on neoliberalism "Who gets to decide what future generations will see when they look at the moon through a telescope? Will there be a democratic process for deciding?" πŸ§ͺπŸŒ’πŸ”

This is not just a number. This is one million people who have had to leave their homes and often their beloved pets. They’ve had to leave behind Christmas cards their toddlers made, framed family photos, food, clothing, their father’s stamp collection, safety, and their memories.
