you may have noticed that animation has never been more in-demand & in the zeitgeist and yet, seemingly, never have media conglomerates been less willing to produce it. you may also notice these guys get multimillion dollar severance packages after they gut a studio. there is probably no connection

Skydance now owns Nick, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Comedy Central, and MTV, effectively ending US TV animation as we know it. Countless jobs will be lost, and fewer new shows will be created. An apocalyptic scenario for cartoons, yet it's maybe the 5th-worst thing about the Paramount-WB merger!

At what point does having pcos and chronic muscle pain and back issues cross over into like disability territory Cuz im like “i am not disabled i am fine” but every month at least for a week I can’t bend at the waist and even rentering gym isn’t relieving this pain

tangentially i often think about how like. kind words from strangers was enough for me to start my career i got my 2p for buuza 3 and I wrote in it about how the very kind rejection email I received from Taneka Stotts in 2018 encouraged me enough to commit to making buuza

Less than one week to go! A big thank you to everyone who's pledged so far and shared my campaign. I am really grateful for all the support and encouragement. Here's a little illustration to show my appreciation

hello! Today's the anniversary of my first wee trad published book. So for new followers: a gamebook thread This one's good for the: - ttRPG-curious but can't get a group together - DM who wants a night off - nerdy parent/ relative who wants to induct a young person into dungeon crawling life

Hey Bluesky give me some essay / theory reccomendations: I am looking to read about how the mechanism of framing a racially marginalised / colonised culture as “antiquated” / “past it’s prime” / “deceased” is a vehicle of erasure of living peoples and culture but not in the context of Orientalism

I tell teenagers at my library (where I work) to read this all the time because I know that even if they don’t fully vibe with it on the first go that they will come back to it again because it’s one of those books that will stick with you forever. Amazing achievement Keezy Young the GOAT‼️👇 Read It.

i think the writing has been on the wall for a few years that 1) we’re in a recession 2) none of these platforms will ever exist forever as their giant conglomerates try to shift strategies to make the line go up forever even though we are all broke af this has happened before and we will survive
