The paper outlines the design of a phase 3 trial evaluating the safety and immunogenicity of two-dose Modified Vaccinia Ankara-Bavarian Nordic (MVA-BN) vaccine regimens in children aged 4 to under 24 months living in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

🌍 NeoSep1 is expanding to Asia! This landmark clinical trial, already running in South Africa, Kenya & Ghana, is now enrolling in India, working to find affordable treatments for drug-resistant neonatal sepsis.
🚨 This is BIG! 👶JIPMER in India enrolled the first baby in Asia into the NeoSep1 trial. Since then, babies have been enrolled at the Rohtak site, with Mumbai next. 🧪 Led by GARDP and partners, NeoSep1 is one of the most ambitious clinical trials ever undertaken for neonatal sepsis.
New findings from a PediCAP analysis found no difference in gut microbiota effects between oral step-down antibiotics & IV treatment. The gut also showed signs of recovery over time! A hopeful result for children with pneumonia. https://www.nature.com/articles/s44259-026-00216-5
