Rahawa Haile@rahawahaile.bsky.social · 3y agoA fun fact about me is that I have a degree in telecommunication and will die on the hill that media—all of it—has never recovered from the deregulation and consolidation made possible by the Telecom Act of 1996. Don’t get me started on what it did to minority-owned radio and TV stations.
You know, I watch stuff like Evangelion or Devilman Crybaby and I see fully functioning cities in the world where every people live every people lives and I think man how could anyone be expected to live a normal life in those conditions??? And then I remember what real life is like 🧍♂️

I have learned now that very few of my relationships in this world are reciprocal in any way. I feel like I’m always there for folks when they need me, and I make an effort to make them feel special on their birthdays and stuff — but when it’s my turn, it’s crickets
