The season might be over, but for volunteers the work rarely stops. Pitches still need maintaining, admin still needs doing, events still need planning, sponsors still need supporting and clubs still need people behind the scenes. Non-league runs all year round.

#TeamUp week takes place between 26 January to 1 February 2026 One in four boys and young men aged 11-24 say they feel lonely at least some of the time.

There are, and sadly there are going to be, a lot of postponements this weekend. Please be kind to your club’s admin. They’re dealing with weather checks, referee calls, league comms, rearrangements and a flood of messages, often voluntarily and often late at night.

What a weekend it’s been eh! Not as many matches as usual, but once again we’ve seen communities pull together and volunteers go above and beyond trying to get games on. That’s non-league football at its very best.

If a match is postponed during the winter due to a frozen pitch: ❌ It’s not “ridiculous”, “suspicious” or a “tinpot club” ✅ It’s because of winter conditions ✅ Volunteers will have done everything possible to try and get the game on Having a go at clubs on social media really isn’t the answer.
