Liz brought back gifts for us from New Orleans, and mine was my first Tarot deck, as you’re supposed to have it gifted to you. It’s a thing. Naturally, she got me a Star Trek TNG deck. Because she’s AMAZING. The major arcana are all bang-on selections, but… HOW FUCKING DARE THEY.
Validating my stance that the guy who let me go (which started my INSANELY LONG hunt for a new job) is a piece of crap who is not to be trusted…. I made the mistake of agreeing to do some freelance work last week, it sucked THE ENTIRE TIME… …and he was supposed to pay me on Friday. Nothing yet.

I COMPLETELY forgot to share this last month, but for my birthday gift back in June, Liz managed to get a pair of tickets for me and the kiddo to go see Weird Al in concert. It was her first concert ever, and she’s the SAME AGE as when I went to my first concert ever, also Weird Al.
Liz brought home Pralines from New Orleans, and somehow they managed to make something SWEETER than sugar. My god. Tasty, but MY GOD.
How old am I? Old enough that when I saw this sign, my first thought was “D’AAAAH I HEARD THAT!”
My kid got some new millipedes the other day to add to her collection (some male and female ivory millipedes) and god damn if they’re not kind of cute. When they’re interested, they “nibble”, which honestly feels more like they’re licking you. Also, this one pooped on me. New experience unlocked. 🤨

I friggen’ love living right next to a power spot. It makes hosting G-MAX raids SO much easier. (Especially since my kid can also queue up a hosted raid in PokeGenie, and we can get upwards of 40 participants. FROM HOME.)
At the urging of my dad, I’ve finally started to watch Dark Matter, and while it took three episodes before I really started to get into it, it grabbed me like crazy. And then I just watched the episode “Jupiter” and HOLY FUCKING WHAT. They skipped eleven and cranked it to twelve. Holy shit.
Liz has been in New Orleans since Sunday, first for work but the last two days, two of her friends flew in so they could essentially just take her out sightseeing and hanging out, which is rad. (Plus, free extra trip!) They went to Lafayette cemetery today, and Liz was super excited to find this.
I just came out of a 5-hour “illustrator design / CSS / python” hyperfocus session and I swear the fugue state it LEGIT. I feel like it’s been eons since I saw the sunlight. Civilizations have risen and fallen. And then one sandwich later, and things make sense again. :D
I want you guys to know how much you mean to me. I was able to get the $900 sent to my landlord, and with the freelance money I’m getting in from the stuff I’ve done this week, we’ll be able to get our payment for next week done as well. Thank you SO MUCH!!!

I’ve been using my time the last few days while I’m all alone by going through my older pre-2016 comics in an attempt to finally get transcriptions for every comic, and maaaaan some of this early stuff is ROUGH. Fat jokes, a racist Chinese caricature… and I’d already edited out r-words before.
This just got reposted again (thanks Robin!) and my god, if this isn’t the most beautiful representation of a trans/cis lesbian lifetime of happiness, I don’t know what is. It will stay with me FOREVER.

Every now and again when I’m talking to my landlord about how my job search is going, he’ll ask about if I’m using AI and such, or if I could use it to make the comic, and I have to work SO HARD not to get incredibly shitty with him in an attempt to not get my ass kicked out. But god, EW.
