Painting I did for my astronomy-loving dad, inspired by the horsehead nebula! #artistsonbluesky #art #astronomy #lasceaux

A painting in the style of paleolithic cave art, depicting a herd of horses. The leading horse crosses over the edge of a dark background, seemingly emerging into a glowing horizon where the ghostly head of a giant horse rises into the "sky". Speckles and dots can be seen around this, paralleling the positions of real stars. The composition is inspired by the Horsehead Nebula.

v-day gift for my gf of our respective beasties (dragonvy 2003 and my oc false blackbird)

a green dragon with gold 'freckles' on its face, purple patches on its body, and a long eel-like blue fin down its back entwines around a murky-black bird creature with tufted ears, a messy golden crest, and scarlet shoulder-plumage. Both are grinning toothily.

Now for THIS year's (much happier) hourly comic! #hourlycomicday2026 #hourlycomics #autobio #hourlies #artistsonbluesky

Autobio comic (depicting the artist as a black bird/dog thing and their girlfriend as a raptor). The artist and their gf watch trashy reality TV before going to bed, and then the artist's cat steps in their mouth at an unspecified time during the night.

normal bird @undergrounddawniii.bsky.social · 8mo ago

Last year's hourly comic which I never posted here because it was depressing, but it has context that's relevant to this year's so!! #hourlycomics #hourlycomicday #artistsonbluesky

An autobio comic showing the artist (depicted as a black bird/dog thing) calling home, receiving news of a family member's cancer diagnosis, and then depression-sleeping for most of the rest of the day.

A little late, but here's my art summary for 2025 (some dates fudged because some months were simply more productive than others). The struggle to find time for personal art is ongoing-- pretty much every non-patreon, non-commissioned picture is represented here lol. Ah well. We push on!

A shaggy beaked monster baring a set of huge sharp teeth in apparent glee. It's dark-feathered/furred with a patch of light gold on its scalp, and a patch of red-gold on its shoulders. The corners of its mouth are covered in masses of red tumor-like growths.

Some emergency self-care self-indulgent doodles from my #SilentHill2 fanfic, Gravity! It saw some fresh reader traffic when the remake dropped, so I was feeling inspired to revisit some very very old doodles. #art #JamesSunderland #SH2Laura #SilentHill

A variety of drawings depicting James Sunderland and Laura from Silent Hill 2.
1. Laura, looking exasperated with her hands on her hips, saying "Well, that's DUMB."
2. James, looking wistfully into the distance.
3. James and Laura looking alarmed/disgusted, seemingly at:
4. A detailed drawing of a large bearded man baring his teeth in a grin (???) and staring intensely.
5. James, looking roughed-up, sitting on the ground and looking despondently at Laura, who is leaning down in front of him and speaking with a smug expression.
6. A balding man in a button-up shirt, holding a plastic baggie of ?? Above him, cursive text reads "HAVE YOU TAKEN YOUR MEDICINE LATELY?"
7. A couple fullbody drawings of James holding his nail-plank. In one he looks up at the viewer wistfully.
8. A small drawing of Laura, who is approaching with a dubious look.
9. James looking offended and incredulous, holding his wallet in one hand and a note in the other. The note reads "Dear Mr. Sunderland, I took your fucking money LOL xoxo -Father Vick". Laura looks on disinterestedly.
10. James, mid-turn, looking angry and ready for a fight.
11. Laura, looking frantic and raising her hands to her mouth, shouting "JAMES! Look out!"
12. An unfinished drawing of James on the ground, floundering, as Laura looms over him with a grouchy expression and says "Oh. I thought you were dead."

People are telling me that the #SilentHill2remake is.... GOOD?! Sounds like I'll have to look into it after all! In celebration, enjoy this visual summary of the plot. #SilentHill #JamesSunderland #PyramidHead #SH2Maria

A redraw of a Simpsons meme but with characters from Silent Hill 2. Maria (a voluptuous woman in a leopard-print skirt and heeled boots) and Pyramid Head (a monster in a bloodstained butcher's apron and a triangular helmet) are twerking/pelvic-thrusting vigorously at a cowering man in an army coat (James Sunderland. Notably, Pyramid Head has prominent buns.

Commission for a very dear friend of his NPC, a sphynx demon with the personality of a 70-year old chainsmoking grandma from Vegas. She's about to knock that drink off the table. #art #sphynx #cat

A three-eyed sphynx cat, dressed in gaudy furs and jewelry, sitting against a large red pillow. She is holding a giant martini glass and smoking a fancy cigarette as she looks disdainfully offscreen. One wrinkly leg is stretched out, about to knock a glass labeled "someone else's drink" off of a nearby table.

'Nother ANE commission! This cute couple is just enjoying a walk. :) #furryart

Digitally-painted picture of two anthros on a casual stroll. One is a shiny Umbreon (dark gray canid with blue ring markings on the ears and forehead) wearing glasses, and the other is a brown bear in a green turtleneck. The Umbreon is talking and the bear is looking at him fondly. They are holding hands.

Was feeling nostalgic and wanted to roll into #furcationland2024 with at least ONE new print at my table, so I decided to do a redraw of some cute official art (pictured for comparison) from Digimon Adventure 02. #art #digimon #digimonadventure02

Digital (re)-illustration of the six main characters of Digimon Adventure 02 and their Digimon partners.
On the left, Hikari (girl with short brown hair and long pink gloves) smiles and holds a camera while her partner Gatomon (white cat with purple tufts on her ears + tail) eats a chocolate bar, Takeru (blond boy with a white fishing hat and a yellow+turquoise turtleneck) grins broadly while his partner Patamon (orange mammal of some kind with winglike, membraned ears) nibbles on a riceball.
In the middle, Ken (boy with shoulder-length blue hair, dressed in a formal gray uniform) smiles shyly, holding the hand of Daisuke (rowdy-looking boy with wild brown hair, goggles, and a fur-lined coat decorated in stylized flames) while their partners (Wormmon + Veemon, a green caterpillar and a blue dinosaur) look up at them adoringly.
On the right, Miyako (girl with glasses, a helmet, + long purple hair) clasps her hands and Iori (young boy with short dark hair) holds a box of pastries. Their

Same image as before, but better and in the original style lol.

Commission for the eternal @theotherrickfox.bsky.social who's been a friendly face at my con tables pretty much since I got started! HE'S THINKIN REAL HARD. #ane2024 #furryart #didheleavethestoveon

Drawing of an orange anthro fox in a red poncho and black/silver sneakers squatting and scratching his chin, wearing a contemplative frown. He has several silver ring piercings, three in his ear and one in his lip. His arms are wrapped in white linen.

normal bird @undergrounddawniii.bsky.social · 3y ago

I need to stop being too lazy to put stuff here-- here's another ANE commission! #furryart #ane2024

Digital illustration of an anthro canine with fur with blue/dark gray fur, with a white underbelly and tan accents. He's holding up a large mug containing a hot steaming drink of some kind, topped with whipped cream. He's looking towards the viewer with an affable smile.

normal bird @undergrounddawniii.bsky.social · 3y ago

More #ANE2024 art! Go lil mouse go! #furryart #mouse #anthro

Digital drawing of a fawn-colored anthropomorphic mouse running with a confident smile. He has scruffy yellow hair and slightly-darker brown patches around one eye. He's holding a spear and dressed in brightly-colored (yellow and orange) peasant-style clothing.

normal bird @undergrounddawniii.bsky.social · 3y ago

Can start posting some of my work from ANE now! This one was based on the con's theme (IT'S A NOREASTAH!!). Cute idea, and accurate because it was extremely cold that weekend but presumably the fursuiters got to stay nice and toasty lol. #art #furryart #anthronewengland #ane2024

Illustration featuring two furries (a white floppy-eared dog with pink and blue spots, and a gray wolf with red and light-blue stripes) having a playful snowball fight. Text on the side of the picture reads "ANE '24".

RP shenanigans. #art #hefaintednormal

Short drawn comic of a tomboyish young woman with an undercut (Heather Mason from Silent Hill) engaging in a conversation with a tall dark-skinned man with white hair and an x-shaped facial (Scar from Fullmetal Alchemist) about whether or not he fainted "normal" or "like an overwhelmed victorian woman".

emerges from the void to post very late valentine's day art i did for my girlfriend #art #dinosaurs #valentines #valendinos

Illustration of two googly-eyed, vaguely-velociraptor-shaped dinosaurs with their noses smushed together. The one on the left has speckled brown-and-cream feathers covering most of its body and teal-colored skin visible on the snout, fingers, toes, and very tip of the tail. The other is light teal with wavy two-toned blue stripes and electric-blue barred feathers on its tail, arms, and head. Both are staring vacantly in different directions despite 'kissing'. There is a crudely-drawn heart haloing their heads.

[emerges from post-ANE exhaustion pit] I DID HOURLY COMICS DAY! Also hi.

Three short hourly comics depicting:
A vaguely canine bird thing (the artist) bemoaning running out of energy to finish some work, and a wise velociraptor (their gf) telling them to take a break.
A little black cat besocked with litter dust being told to CLEAN HER LIDL PAWS by the artist.
The artist and the black cat asleep in a very messy bed.

sleepy post-dinner void moment 😴 (please forgive the mess scattered all over the surface, she likes to fling her food everywhere while she eats) #cats

Photo of a small beehive-shaped cat hut. Inside, the head of a black cat is visible, face-down against the rim of the opening. Only her ears are poking out. Visible in the foreground is a half-eaten bowl of wet cat-food.

Zoomed-in version of the previous picture, showing a closer view of the cat.

Taking inventory for #ANE2024 and rediscovered this painting I went insane on and did completely on one layer because ???? I don't know why. But I'm still really fond of it even if it's a little older! #art #thelastguardian #trico

normal bird @undergrounddawniii.bsky.social · 3y ago

this is super old by now but it's probably still one of my favorite things I've ever painted! #art

Digital painting of a haggard, world-worn man with sandy blond hair and a bushy beard/mustache, holding a large dog (gray and shaggy with floppy ears and a thin tail, a hound of some kind) over his shoulders. The dog is fully relaxed and content in this position, panting and lolling her tongue.

2023 Art Summary! Fudged a couple of months because some had significantly more output than others. Good mix of furry work and personal work here, I think! Would like to make a point of doing more horror in 2024. #art #furryart #silenthill
