I’m not surprised the tech blogger who thinks Bond and Mad Men are cool and has done this blinders-on “white guy doesn’t see why others are uncomfortable” thing for a while now is happy on X, but I’ve read Daring Fireball for years and I thought @gruber.foo was better than the click bait post

Talking with one of the operators here at the factory, and yeah ... I've been employed here longer than he's been alive! When someone tells me they were born in 2000 and they are like a young adult with a job and an apartment? Does not compute to my old brain.
I saw a new to me species today - the hornet fly (Genus Spilomyia)! I love mimicry in nature and hoverflies are experts. I've seen bee mimicking flies before, but this hornet mimic was quite cool. The markings read "hornet" from a few feet away until I got up close and saw the tell-tale fly eyes.

Put strings and hardware on this thing since I’m not going to spray final clear this year because I put it off too long again. Oh god does it need fretwork, but it sounds killer and the death bucker is awesome. It looks very homemade but it’s probably never leaving home, so, y’know. Tuned to A
