Dip into the Archives For this weekends shot I dipped into the archives for a new shot I’ve been working on. Taken nearly 10 years ago, a beautiful autumnal morning with soft mist surrounding the castle, the still surface providing a beautiful reflection.

The sun was shining, if only briefly, at the weekend and created a lovely shadow crossing an otherwise vertical shot. Prior to starting this project these are the types of shots I may have seen, might have captured, but am far more alert and aware to them. #myweeklyphoneimage #sharemondays2026
Work in Progress Loitering down a country lane chasing the mist at sunrise. One of those days you expect mist but there isn’t a drop and the chase to find it before the morning sun burns it off. Years of dealing with the same problems are what keeps the hobby interesting.
It keeps going. Does it ever end. The long narrow corridor, a line of lights illuminating, doors repeating, who knows what lies behind. #myweeklyphoneimage #sharemondays2026
Work in Progress The striking vast slabs of rock on the beach, the North Sea tide flowing up and over, patterns left as it recedes back into the sea. It is a location I really need to revisit as this shot dates from 2019 and my interests have changed since then.
#myweeklyphoneimage comes from the skies, the first flight of the day, sitting watching for the first light of the day rise from above the horizon, splitting the sky. I never tire of watching the start of a new day and it’s one of the enjoyable moments photographing the sunrise. #sharemondays2026
Something for the weekend… A rather minimalist shot taken back in 2021, a feeling of nothing as you drop off the edge of the platform and into the vast empty space. #bnw_greatshots #bnwminimalismmag #incredible_minimal #minimal_perfection #bw_perfect
If the #BirdofTheDay theme is #StrikeAPose I have to post this one - still my favourite great grey owl photo. A hawk had dove at it and it was taking a defensive pose. The lyrics to Madonna’s Vogue comes to my mind every time I see it! #greatgreyowl #owl #greatgrayowl #wildlife #wildlifephotography
Symmetry Exploring a complex of buildings at the weekend for my weekly phone image, the symmetry between these buildings, the changing textures between brick and glass, scale being the only difference. #myweeklyphoneimage #sharemondays2026
Something for the weekend… Looking through older photographs I came across this shot recently which at the time didn’t resonate with me. When I look at it now, the wide open space of the sea, the formation and light of the clouds leading your eye into the distance and the dark mass of land.
I’ve had the tough task of judging this weeks #sharemondays2026 A lot of fab entries as always and narrowing it down to a top 4 wasn’t easy. Congratulations to the following photographers @supergios.bsky.social @paulmacleod.bsky.social @iceniphoto.bsky.social @geoff-franklin.bsky.social
My weekly phone image was a last minute rush so I took the opportunity to try and visit some different locations and try new compositions. There are lots of bridge in the centre of Glasgow, all different shapes and sizes making for interesting views. #myweeklyphoneimage #sharemondays2026
Down on the Street, the beautiful sound of the shingles as the waves gently rock back and forth.
A new building in the City to photograph, and whilst it doesn’t have curves and glass, I do like the bold lines which work equally well when playing around with different tones. #sharemondays2026 #myweeklyphoneimage
"The posts still lean, though now their leaning feels more fully understood." There is wisdom in resilience that bends rather than resists. Perhaps creativity asks something similar of us? Spiorad aird nam Murchan Pt.31 | Creativity V - Flow: www.rkphotographic.com/blog/2026/7/... #Ardnamurchan
The point of no return… The last few weeks have been spent by the coast, little photography in the summer months but I didn’t get the odd shot here and there. The area we visited has several tidal pools which make for lovely subjects. #sharemondays2026 #myweeklyphoneimage
Something for the weekend… The combination of the hard straight line of the harbour walls leading you onto the jaggy flexible nature of the coastline.
'Enlightenment' I'll be discussing this image and many more at the Wex Video & Photo roadshow in Glasgow. September 11th, 12-1pm. Tickets are free but you need to reserve a spot as space is limited. See comment below for link. #Photography #Scotland
Something different for a Sunday. My local park in the city takes on a very different guise when the mist descends, the atmosphere changes, gone is the city skyline and you are left wondering what is around the corner.
An image from back in February that got left behind, so here it is today. #photography #monochrome #blackandwhite #bnw
One of the benefits of being up at crazy o'clock this time of year is when its nice it can be really nice. Passed these lovely little skirts of mist curling through the trees and had to stop for a moment. #Sharemondays2026 #Scotland #photography #LeicaQ343
Tracing the past, the remains of yesterday, torn from the wall. I walk past this nearly every day and have seen it both alive and dead and have wanted to try and capture it as I see it. It has taken time to produce an edit which I believe works. #myweeklyphoneimage #sharemondays2026
The power of the sea. I could never tire of photographing the movement of the water, every wave unique.
Had a great day out with @andrewsgray.bsky.social last week. Was great to get out again #sharemondays2026
