Exactly. Even our dumbest, silliest escapist pop culture, from Pitbull to Black Eyed Peas to Kesha was tinged with sadness and/or a sense of nihilism. I'm serious when I say this: I think that brief 1-2 year period of HAMILTON being inescapable is doing a lot of the heavy lifting for the "millennial optimism" narrative (and even then, it obviously wasn't just millennials who were hardcore about it)
