Western Canada's largest free literary festival.

Thank you so much to everyone who showed up yesterday: volunteers, exhibitors, facilitators, authors, staff, UBC Robson Square staff, book lovers, curiosity seekers, and those who stumbled upon us. You truly made Word Vancouver 2026 (Main Festival Day) one to be remembered. 📚

⭐📚Today's the Day!📚⭐ We cannot wait to see you all and spend time with the BC Literary Arts Community at UBC Robson Square (800 Robson Street) from 11:00AM -5:00PM today. Physical programs onsite, too! See you soon! ✒️

Quick tip for tomorrow - bring a reusable water bottle! UBC Robson Square has fountains throughout to refill and keep you hydrated. Less than 24 hours til we are all together celebrating BC Literary Arts. 🙌 Please note: we don't actually have Word Vancouver branded water bottles.

Are you trying to decide how to get to the festival on Saturday? 🤔 Well, if you're biking, we have GREAT news! 🚲 On Hornby, outside the Vancouver Art Gallery, there is FREE valet bike parking. You can use the valet bike parking every Saturday and Sunday for the month of September.

Each poem needs to have seventeen syllables or less (sort of like a haiku) and there will be sixteen poets in the competition, with the top four taking home cash prizes.
