1. I’ve remained quiet throughout this process but it has recently reached a point where I have to respond. Contrary to what many have been told, I was not subject to a Title IX investigation.

7. But attacking me on social media, especially when those attacks are based on incomplete information, do not promote fairness or accountability.
6. I strive to maintain a collegial, supportive, respectful workplace, and am grateful to be part of an institution that takes anti-discrimination and inclusion efforts seriously.
5. The sanctions that were imposed speak to what the University found credible: I was required to take an anti-harassment training, I was denied last year’s salary increase, and I was given the option to relocate my office.
4. As a result, no one—not the complainant and not I—knows what allegations they found were substantiated (under the low preponderance of the evidence standard).
3. The two allegations from more recent years have to do with disagreements about issues within the department. Though the University found that it was more likely than not that I violated the anti-harassment policy, the University never released the evidence it relied on or its specific findings.
2. That fact is significant for several reasons: the claims did not rise to that level, and also, critically, it means that I got no due process protections during the investigation. Everyone should understand that most of the six allegations are 10-18 years old, and not filed until last year.
This morning in Biddeford, Maine, a 26-year-old man said goodbye to his wife and daughter and left for work. Moments later he was dead, shot in the head by ICE agents, the second man ICE has killed in six days. ICE is killing our neighbors. ICE cannot be reformed. Abolish ICE.

I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good. Stay free

🌍Do all nations believe they’re superior—or do some feel inferior? Western social sciences claimed the first. But Fanon & Memmi argued colonization by the West left many in the Global South with colonial mentality—internalized oppression. 🧵Findings from our 45-country study:

Looks interesting. Analysis of evangelical sermons. System justification of inequality Tag: @johnjost.bsky.social
New from me in @jssreligion.bsky.social: Evangelicals justify economic inequality more than the overall population. So what are preachers saying about Bible passages that might cut against inequality? They just insist those passages don't really say inequality is bad. doi.org/10.1111/jssr...
