Out recording NVC quadrats at @wildlifebcn.org Fulbourn Fen NR today. During a short break I spotted these two moths - Marbled Clover and Lesser Pearl - both could be migrants but also just about within their native range, and the right sort of habitat... #mothsmatter #teammoth
Cambs Fire & Rescue Service have shared a plea for visitors to Holme Fen to please not cross the cordoned off sections. The ground may be very unstable, looking safe on the surface but burnt hollow underneath! They’ll keep checking for hotspots over the next few days.
Our thanks to the numerous teams tackling the Holme Fen fire and to everyone who’s shown concern for this special site. Please share how important it is that any ignition source, from the smallest cigarette ember to portable bbqs and campfires are kept well away from our flammable dry peat soils!
