Has anyone read the Uplift books by David Brin? They really scratch a mental itch for worldbuilding with diverse species, and I mean c'mon, dolphin starships for the win.

Mewts please reply with a relevant photo that I could overpaint a sen onto to show real world scale and I'll choose one of them!
I'm excited to have a day to work on personal projects now and I've started another bsky to start exploring my own niche interests (sen after dark). The goal will be to create as many new abstract frontier concepts as possible, mostly involving the manipulation of body form, consciousness and matter
Got a huge concession from my workplace for more creative and project time so that's exciting. Could have half a day purely for art etc

Any mutuals involved in the GATE program at school? I was in the NZ equivalent
Grabbing y'all by the scruff of the neck today and yelling DROP IIIIT!
The sheer frustration I experience every time I see a picture I really like and then see that someone has already liked it (past me). Rude.

I don't want the same old thing each year. Maws, paws? Nah, give me tremendous energy that accelerates every molecule of your body. Give me new colors, new senses, an ever shifting timeless form made of raw awareness. Give me the texture of gravity, plasma curves held tight by living magnetic fields

Please don't let this fly under the radar, creatives. This is a troubling trajectory. (NSPM-7) Also NZ, we don't need this either
Please let 2027 be the year that the trend of "...what if we made it objectively worse?" goes away
So its becoming very clear to me that I am dealing with long COVID symptoms that are prolonged and interfere with daily life. I struggle to think clearly, word recall is occasionally difficult and there's a lot of general exhaustion / apathy.

What does it imply to feel "trapped" in your body. What on earth is that sensation, what yearns to be free from the matter and multitudinous cells of its own animal self? Is it the same being present in the morning before it remembers the mundane burdens?
Seeing that centaur robot, I really hope our creature designs don't just become something tech bros can base robots off and make exploitative profits or weapons named after Lord of the Rings plot devices. Ugh. Why do they ruin literally everything.

Increasingly looking like AI companies are banking on a bailout while the rest of the ship goes down.
Pretty sad watching AI companies desperately searching for creative and innovative use cases for their technology, while simultaneously squandering the future of the human creatives that are the crucial ingredient in imagining said innovations. Reap what you sow.
