So absolutely heartbroken to hear this news today. It was so painful to be a student in 2019 and see how many of my classmates were only safe and welcomed at Hamp, who didn't have homes they were able to go back to.

A beautiful institution & community that has done so much for so many. My child is a current Hampshire senior. Fuck this. As an industry, we are in an existential crisis of book banning because of homophobia and transphobia weaponized by racist authoritarians. “Dirty books” are not the problem. Censorship is. Make whatever books you like, but don’t you dare call other books dirty in your shitty marketing.
I just read this and it was INCREDIBLE. 10/10. I could not possibly recommend CHRONICALLY DOLORES more, and I am absolutely ravenous for whatever Maya Van Wagenen writes next. What an amazing addition to the canon of disability kidlit 😭
