Being helpful cost us 4 hours in an airport. 🙄 First flight delayed, missed connection. Next flight full, we were 1st on standby. With 4 minutes to go, 3 checked in passengers hadn’t shown up. When I sat back down, 3 ladies said, “Are you going to Houston? We’re going to Houston.” It was them. 🤷‍♂️

This is a snip from an actual TV commercial for the candidate for North Carolina 11th congressional district. Jamie Ager (D) has ads with barn dances. Jennifer Balkcom (R) sits next to her mom, who says, “If you come into my house, you’re gonna get shot”.

I got chewed out by a ref for teaching a way-cool trick corner kick to my 12 yo soccer boys. P1 lines up for a corner, P2 comes & argues he should take. P1 moves the ball a bit on his way off the ⚽️ (thus live play). So now P2 can just dribble. Not like we even scored on the play but boys loved it.

Incredible @defector.com piece on trick plays in football. I read this part and gasped. defector.com/how-one-tric...

In the fourth quarter on that cold and rainy night at Tiger Stadium, with the game extremely close, a Georgia Tech player went down injured. Papa said some trainers came out on the field, and carried that player off on a stretcher. “Meanwhile, the whole Georgia Tech team was lined up against the sidelines,” he said. “When they got almost to the sideline, they put the stretcher down, and they rolled him off the stretcher, and he was still on the field.”

Papa says all of this happened in a flash: the sideline, the stretcher, the player rolling off the gurney and onto the field. When the ball was snapped, the guy who’d supposedly been hurt didn’t stay on the ground. Instead, he booked it for the end zone.

“He got up, caught a pass, went over the goal line, and beat LSU,” Papa said.

My grandfather saw this trick play more than 80 years ago, and it lodged in his brain forever. “It was so different from anything I’ve ever seen before,” he said. “To see something like that, how can you forget it?”

Puka (M) and Ladd (S late) Questionable… Playable Bench: Jakobi Meyers (S late) Pat Bryant (S late) Konata Mumpfield (M) I think if Ladd plays I should just bench Puka and play Meyers/Bryant. Right? Puka trending out. Rather get a known decent replacement than a known bad one.

A mini trade diary. 12 tm SF contending, but not the favorite. I made 2 trades with the favorite to set up a much bigger one today. The setup: I had both Pittman and DK Metcalf. Traded Pittman for a 28 1st and Drew Allar. After Deebo’s week 1 traded him to swap picks from a late 3 to an early 2.

My thoughts from Texans training camp (practice w/Raiders): - David Montgomery looks amazing. - Xavier Hutchinson starting at slot, looking good. - It’s not just Texans D that makes Texans OL look silly in pass protection.

I’ve had a fully electric car for 6 months. It’s a game changer. I love it. I find it hard to understand why far too many drivers who have no knowledge or experience are fixated on out of date info or just plain lies. Get some info, get a test drive and get one!
