Multnomah County Chair Vega Pederson hired Chris Oxley to lead their negotiations on the Moda Center renovation. Oxley formerly worked for the Blazers and currently serves as Board President at Sport Oregon, a nonprofit that has been lobbying for public funding of the Moda Center renovation.

“I’m sorry, did I mishear?” Moyer asked when Vega Pederson first shared his name Thursday. “We hired a negotiator that’s on the board of an organization that is lobbying us on this issue? How is that not a wild conflict of interest?”

unfathomable that the city is being asked to hand over four hundred million bucks with virtually no information on what the blazers are planning to spend it on - and that the loudest proponents of the deal are the councilors and business leaders who otherwise complain the city is poorly managed

I think it's really important that the public understand what the city's true commitment is because we keep saying and hearing $120M over 20 years, but it's really closer to $400 million. It makes sense for us to not pre-commit especially given that we're operating blind with no information.

No one who advocates for the Moda renovations is allowed to complain about the city or state taking too many taxes EVER AGAIN

I lost $500 when a heat dome meant I couldn't go to the Cycle Oregon Joyride in June and, tonight, $100 for a not-cancelled show downtown when the AQI there is 163. Climate change is expensive. Maybe I should not reserve/book anything outside anytime from June-September?
