In this new study, researchers @paolodecoppi.bsky.social used #stemcells to create bioengineered #oesophagi that they implanted into pigs, restoring their ability to swallow & eat. Their work opens the door for similar structures to treat people with #cancer. www.nature.com/articles/d41...

Researchers at UCL and Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) have developed the first-ever lab-grown mini-stomach that contains the key components of the full-sized human organ.
