Was giving the people of Teesside their 6am news on the BBC when I saw @thatdavidharper.bsky.social appear on Good Morning Britain. Nowhere in the country safe from Flintshire journalists bringing you news at this time of day.

Is it conspiracy-pilled to think the low level stuff - the sound on phones on public transport, the petty bureaucracy of parking fines - strikes a nerve because nobody has ever been held accountable for Covid-era failings and double standards?
Funny, that. "Hancock and pandemic-era PM Boris Johnson declined to comment when Playbook PM approached them. Conservative MP Jeremy Hunt, who served as health secretary between 2012 and 2018 and might have been expected to oversee pandemic preparedness, did not respond to a request to comment."
Editing this week's episode and within the first 120 seconds there are mentions of David Icke and Rory Stewart. We are simply a vector for the tastes of our listeners.
Very disappointing to see so many youth trashing and rampaging the streets of Paris. They could be working at Deloitte.

Rupert Lowe of Restore Britain says the electoral success of his political party would "inevitably" lead to civil unrest and rioting. His argument is increasingly that civil conflict has become unavoidable + absolutely necessary (if still partly regrettable + somewhat to be blamed on opponents)

There isn't a good track record of combined authorities buying small regional airports. Tees Valley Combined Authority bought Teesside Airport and has loaned it £128m. Interest payments of £28m are as good as written off. The loans? Unlikely to ever be repaid.

The chief exec of TVCA who oversaw all of the contentious business dealings at Teesworks was Julie Gilhespie. She had no public sector experience before joining TVCA and became its head a year after joining. She left at the end of 2024 with a £55k redundancy payment and £153k pension top-up.
Disappointing Tees Valley CA needs yet another set of external inspectors to sort its problems out. I feel sorry for the current team of officers doing their professional best to turn around the mess they inherited but Lord Houchen and the former Chief Exec should hang their heads in shame.

For some reason I was reading up on the UK's fossil fuel reserves the other day. We've already extracted around 90% of our oil and gas. More extraction just kicks the can down the road for, what, another 5-10 years? What happens after that? What does new drilling buy time for?
Direct fossil fuel propaganda from @lbc.co.uk in support of oil and gas extraction. Using Adura's own marketing as your headline goes beyond malfeasance.
The multiple news organisations doing daily podcasts on the Russell Band trial are truly bringing the grim entertainment spectacle to it. “I’m Luke Jones… and this is Day One: How to pick a jury.” It’s a rape trial ffs.
It is very interesting that the Mail’s story on Michael Gove’s recent ex-girlfriend being charged with CSAM offences has been memoryholed two days after it was published. Public records show she appeared at Oxford Combined Court centre on September 30 and pleaded not guilty.
