Tragic: Per CPD, yesterday 8/3 at about 3:37 PM a semi driver and a male e-scooter rider, 16, were traveling north on the 4100 block of N. Western Avenue in North Center when they collided. The teen later died from his injuries. Citations are pending. This was Chicago's 3rd e-scooter death in 2026.

We haven't listed to this @wbez.org segment with @sashaannsimons.bsky.social yet, but if Mendoza blamed the Archer Traffic safety project for congestion in Brighton Park without mentioning this massive, multi-block water/sewer project on Archer in the nabe, that's just silly.
